Curtain walling can provide specifiers with a dynamic presence for key elevations of a building which impact both the external and internal views. The entrace created at the Ieper Business Park in Belgium was designed with Elegance 52 HL curtain walling to create a stunning effect both inside and outside the building.

The facade consists of 1,500 metre squares of curtain walling reaching 14 meters high. This project uses the basic structure of Elegance 52 with the emphasis on the specialised apperance of the horizontal lining (HL) variation within the range.

The traditional protective cappings of the vertical mullions are replaced with a hidden profile which sits behind a discreet finishing gasket. As a result the horizontal lines come to the fore and so create a striking impact along the sides of the building.

Stability of the 14 metre high facade is achieved by fixing to the steel structure which has been erected behind the curtain walling.

Our Confort 50 windows and doors were also used throughout the Ieper Park project.

Technical Considerations

The designers of the Ieper Businses Park wanted to emphasise the horizontal lines of the curtain walling facade and so opted for the 'HL' variation of the Elegance 52 curtain walling system.

The vertical mullion capping is replaced by a hidden profile that sits behing a discreet finishing gasket. The overall effect emphasises and draws the eye to the horizontal lines of the facade.
