The Mews is a stunning development of just six architect-designed houses in the heart of Islington. The development is enclosed by the walls of the factory that once stood on the site and lend an air of seclusion in an otherwise bustling location.
Highly contemporary in design, the use of modern materials throughout has resulted in a remarkable devlopment that is an example of modern luxury living.
Dramatic architectural featurs are found throughout the house, which are full of natural light by virtue of the glazing which maxmises the natural light at every level.
The facade of the building is punctuated with projectiing bay windows and full height glazed screens created from Sapa's Dualframe 75 system. The slim sightlines of Dualframe mean that inside and outside of the buildings are blended whilst ensuring the maximum thermal efficiency is achieved.

Technical Considerations
The architect's vistion for this project was to create interteriors that were spacious and airy by utilising as much natural light as possible. The fenestration system had to allow for great expanses of glass without the intrusion of bulky frames which would have blocked valuable light.
Dualframe is an inherently strong system which meant that the windows could be large, spanning the interior floor levels, without the need for additional reinforcement. The flexibility of Dualframe also meant that the unusal box bay windows could be formed from the same profiles. |
